client: N/A studio: VARIOUS
Woo! New Reel! Music: Scientist by the Dandy Warhols.
client: DISCOVERY CHANNEL studio: HUSH
With this pitch I wanted to focus on the idea of the frozen north. Specifically, the "frozen" part. I thought it would be super cool to see ice cracking to reveal footage, to play with the way ice could refract light behind it, and also to build a giant "ALASKA WEEK" logo out of ice. Unfortunately, Discovery decided to go with another (equally cool) approach, but one day I will have my ice sculpture, i just know it.
client: VERIZON studio: SUPERFAD
This set of storyboards was aimed to show the many viewing options that are just a click away with Verizon's new Fios network.
client: ABC studio: SUPERFAD
These storyboards were a rebranding pitch for ABC's Supersign in Times Square. I wanted to use the lights to tell the story of someone arriving at Times Square and seeing the sign for the first time.
ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM / boards
client: OHIO ANTI-SMOKING FOUNDATION studio: LIGHTBORNE
These boards were a pitch for an anti-smoking campaign which likened Ohio's smoking problem to "an elephant in the room." Unfortunately the foundation made a bit of a budget snafu and the project never took off.
client: UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE studio: LIGHTBORNE
This styleframe was for a University of Tennessee pitch, and featured some of the highlights of the UT experience.
client: OSCAR FERNANDEZ studio: DAAP role: concept, writing, design & animation
This animation served as my final capstone project at DAAP... I tried to go as real world as I could with this, studying the proposal, interviewing politicians, researching voter turn out and communicating with the people at the Ohio Hub Project as if they were paying clients. And that was just the beginning... Then there was the design and animation, but that is a tale for another day. VO by Evan Charest.
client: WEBBY AWARDS studio: DAAP role: design & animation
This animation was designed, shot, and animated in 3 days with fellow DAAP student Chris Phillips for the Webby in Motion competition. The brief was to create a 15-20 second animation to play before the awards were handed out for a specific category (in our case, Entertainment).
client: BEN MEYER studio: DAAP role: design & animation
The concept behind this project was to use the BBC logo to show examples of the different types of programming available on the station.
CRACKING THE CODE / animation
client: MI6 studio: SUPERFAD role: stop-motion animation
This video was for the 2008 Mi6 Game Marketing Convention themed "Cracking the Code." We wanted to use simple, abstract elements to represent code and the amazing things that can come out of it.
INSIDE THE ACTION / animation
client: MTV studio: GUNSHOP role: compositing & some animation
An intro for a behind-the-scenes show that air on MTV. The focus of the show is to re-enact the stunts performed in the movie "Ghost Rider."
AOL CONTINUUM / animation
client: AOL studio: GUNSHOP role: 3d, compositing & animation
This project is for an AOL online video aimed to show how AOL can be seamlessly integrated into the lives of its users.
